Declutter

The goal is to make your home ready for a Better Homes and Gardens photoshoot.  Let the buyer imagine themselves living there.  Prospective buyers should see the space they are buying, not your personal items.

As much as you like that bowling trophy on the mantel, take it down.

Personal photos need to be removed.

Remove any traces of pets prior to any showing.

Buyers will open the pantry, refrigerator, and closets.  Remove everything that you will not be using within the next month.

Make sure all walkways are free from any clutter.

Clean up any home office area, hide messy cords.

Store less-used items in totes.

Consider renting a storage unit, if necessary.

We are halfway through our list.  Congratulate yourself on the progress you’ve made so far.  Next week we discuss value added fixes.
